The World At Play Bike Ride is an annual ride that cycles the length of Sognefjord, Norway's longest fjord (and the second longest in the world), and over Tindevegen, one of the most beautiful mountains in the country and the gateway to the Land of the Giants. The ride takes place over 3 days, covering nearly 300km.  The first two days cover rolling, beautiful terrain right next to the Fjord, and the third day is an epic mountain climb ensuring everyone finishes on a real high!

"Having never done a long ride before it was a real challenge but beautiful & rewarding with an incredible support team. Best thing I've ever done!"

Each year the ride raises money for World At Play, a charity that uses sport and play to educate children in the Balkans, and more recently Syrian refugees in Turkey.  The ride is organised by us at World At Play; meaning every penny you raise goes to the charity rather than event management companies.

This is a fully supported ride that will appeal to anyone who has dreamed of cycling through a beautiful area of the world, accomplishing a great challenge and making a tangible difference to children who face real difficulties.

WHERE, WHEN, HOW MUCH AND WHO DOES IT?

Where:

The ride takes place in Sognefjord in Western Norway.  The nearest airport is Bergen.

When:

26th August - 28th August 2020

You will need to arrive in Bergen, Norway on the 25th August and will be returned to Bergen on 29th August where you can either fly home or extend your holiday in this delightful town.

It is possible to use Oslo as your arrival/departure point. For arrivals you can get the train to Bergen where you can be met. For your return you can get the (beautiful) train from our final cycling destination in Flam to Oslo.

How Much:

The registration fee is £550 - this covers all costs and ensures all your fundraising goes to the charity to improve the lives of children. This is broken down into a £200 deposit, and later payment of £350.

The fundraising target is £1,000 - all money raised goes to World At Play programmes.

Who Does It:

In short, incredible people.  We have had a mix of participants from England, Wales, Norway, Dubai, Denmark, Geneva and Scotland over the last 4 rides.  As this challenge stands out from the typical charity bike ride it attracts fantastic people who add to the ride experience.
